Summary of the study and key findings. In this prospective observational study, adults with HFpEF underwent comprehensive phenotyping with echocardiography, stress perfusion CMR and plasma fibroinflammatory biomarkers. Patients with AF had worse systolic function but higher peak early diastolic strain rate, together with an altered expression of several fibro-inflammatory biomarkers.
